With a capacity of 27,000, Ashton Gate Stadium is located in the heart of Bristol. Home to Bristol City Football Club and Bristol Bears Rugby, it hosts a wide range of sporting events, concerts, and other large-scale occasions.

The stadium is easily accessible by public transport, including nearby bus routes, making it convenient for attendees to travel to and from the venue.

Getting to Ashton Gate Stadium

Bus – Walk approximately 7 minutes to Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station. From here there is a matchday shuttle bus service (AG3). First Bus operates the AG3 shuttle service specifically for matchdays, providing direct transportation from Bristol Temple Meads Station to Ashton Gate Stadium. Buses depart every 20 minutes, starting two and a half hours before kick-off and continuing until three and a half hours post-match. Tickets are priced at £2.95 for adults.
On Foot – It is approximately a 45-minute walk to the stadium. Turn left as you exit the hotel onto Temple Rose Street and briefly continue straight before taking a left onto Cart Lane. Upon reaching the end of Cart Lane, cross over the road onto Mitchell Lane. Continue straight onto Three Queens Lane before taking a left onto Redcliff Street. Following the road down until the roundabout, take a right onto Redcliffe Way. Before crossing the bridge, take a left onto Redcliffe Wharf. Then follow the Phoenix Wharf footpath along the river, crossing over the Bathurst Basin Swing Bridge. Continue on Bathurst Parade, before crossing over the roundabout onto Cumberland Road. Take the next left across Goal Ferry Bridge, upon exiting the bridge turn right onto Coronation Road. Continue straight along Coronation Road, adjacent to the River Avon. Take a slight left to stay on Coronation Road then follow Ashton Road road to the stadium, you may have to walk round the stadium dependent on your entry point.

Your Hotel

Hotels will endeavour to ensure rooms are ready for their standard check-in time, but this is not always possible. At check-in you may be required to pre-register a credit card for any room incidentals.  Pre-authorisation is a common process where a pre-authorisation request is made by the hotel’s card terminal to the card holders’ bank, your bank/credit card company authorises the funds and sends an authorisation code to the hotel. This confirms the availability of the requested funds in the card holder’s account to cover charges in the hotel (if any).     

This authorisation code is expected to be used when the transaction is about to complete (that is on check-out). If the authorisation code given by your bank/credit card company is not used by the hotel, this means that your account had no incidental charges during the stay OR the hotel has secured funds through other means (cash or another card) and has had no need to use those blocked funds OR does not wish to proceed with the transaction due to other reasons.     

If on check out, you decide to pay using cash or with an alternative credit/debit card (different to the one provided on arrival); the amount taken from the first credit/debit card normally takes 5-7 working days to be released back to your card by your own issuing bank or credit card company. Some issuing banks and building societies may take longer specially for cards issued outside of the United Kingdom.     

You are recommended to use room safes when provided and ensure you always check this prior to departure to ensure you leave nothing behind.
