Travelling to the stadium

BT Murrayfield Stadium is approximately a 45-minute walk from Edinburgh city centre. From Princes Street head onto Shandwick Place (A8) which leads on to Atholl Place, then onto Haymarket Terrace. Continue on the A8 until Roseburn Street, and turn left. There are a range of shops, bars and restaurants along the route, including the Murrayfield Bar, just past Roseburn Street which is popular with rugby fans. Please note, the walking route post-match may change due to crowd control measures.

Tram

On match day, frequent trams and extra staff are provided to help with crowd control, directions and ticket sales, and make the tram the easiest way to travel to the stadium. From Princes Street, take the tram towards Edinburgh Airport, stopping at BT Murrayfield Stadium. All trams are fully accessible with dedicated wheelchair user spaces. Murrayfield tram stop has fully accessible lift facilities to street level.

Tip: it can be difficult to purchase tram tickets when the tram station is busy, especially on a match day.
