Travel to the stadium

On Foot

BT Murrayfield Stadium is approximately a 45-minute walk from Edinburgh city centre. From Princes Street head onto Shandwick Place (A8) which leads on to Atholl Place, then onto Haymarket Terrace. Continue on the A8 until Roseburn Street, and turn left. There are a range of shops, bars and restaurants along the route, including the Murrayfield Bar, just past Roseburn Street which is popular with rugby fans.

By Tram

On match day, frequent trams and extra staff are provided to help with crowd control, directions and ticket sales, and make the tram the easiest way to travel to the stadium. From Princes Street, take the tram towards Edinburgh Airport, stopping at BT Murrayfield Stadium. All trams are fully accessible with dedicated wheelchair user spaces. Murrayfield tram stop has fully accessible lift facilities to street level. Tip: it can be difficult to purchase tram tickets when the tram station is busy, especially on a match day. Tickets can be purchased online via the free Transport for Edinburgh app (suitable for Apple and Android devices), meaning you then only need to validate your ticket when you get to the tram station. By Bus

A number of services pass close to BT Murrayfield Stadium, and can be caught from the following locations: • Lothian Buses. Catch from Westfield Road, Gorgie Road, Corstorphine Road • Airlink. Catch from Corstophine Road • First Bus. Catch from Corstophine Road • Scottish Citylink. Catch from Corstophine Road Please bear pre- and post-event road closures in mind when travelling by bus on match day.

By Rail

The closest train station to BT Murrayfield Stadium is Haymarket Station. Take the train from Edinburgh city centre using the regular service from Edinburgh Waverley station. Upon arrival at Haymarket station, follow the crowd on a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium. Tip: as the start of the match gets closer, the walk takes longer, as the road gets blocked with thousands of rugby fans. Allow plenty of time to arrive in time safely.
