Alex and Vanessa Dunnet, regular customers with England Rugby Travel who have been bitten by the bug for trips away to watch England, are looking forward to travelling to Cardiff and Dublin for the 2015 RBS 6 Nations Championships.
“We are enjoying England’s current good form,” Vanessa said. “The team were brilliant in last season’s RBS 6 Nations Championship; we travelled to Rome with England Rugby Travel and saw them win at the Stadio Olimpico then dashed back to the hotel to watch the final game in Paris on the TV."
“We had been in Paris to see England play their first game which kept us on the edge of our seats. The whole tournament was fantastic." Vanessa added.
“It is an exciting time for English rugby with Rugby World Cup 2015 coming up. We have booked as many fixtures for the Tournament that we can go to and shall travel optimistically to see England in the RBS 6 Nations at the beginning of the year,” Vanessa remarked.
The Dunnets, from Maidstone in Kent, travel to as many of England’s away games as possible. “We book through England Rugby Travel because we know we can get guaranteed official match tickets and that all the travel and accommodation will be taken care of,” Vanessa explained.
“We choose the away games because we enjoy travelling with a group of friends that we met at Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand. All 12 of us booked with England Rugby Travel and became firm friends during the trip and are now looking forward to travelling to Dublin to watch England take on Ireland. It’s a lovely social time which makes the trips so much more fun.”
Vanessa told us that keeping in touch with the friends they make on trips with England Rugby Travel is one of the lovely benefits of going to watch England away. Vanessa went on to add that there were two additional reasons that she and her husband always book with England Rugby Travel: “The staff and the personal approach you get is so special and a lovely bonus is that you usually end up meeting the people during the trips that you have dealt with over the phone. It’s lovely to put a face to a name.”
“We especially like the personalised touch that England Rugby Travel provides. When we travel as a group the staff instinctively knows to seat us together in the Stadiums without us having to ask, which makes the trip more enjoyable," Vanessa continued.
“The Meet the Coaches events are the second main reason we love travelling with England Rugby Travel,” she said. “The exclusive opportunity to meet the coaches is fantastic, we have been to two such events and both trips have been very memorable.”
Vanessa and her husband Alex are booked to go to Cardiff and Dublin and are hoping for retribution for two years ago when Wales annihilated England in the final game, ending England's bid for a Grand Slam. “Cardiff and Dublin are both great cities to visit and the atmosphere inside the stadiums on match day is fantastic," said Vanessa.
“In Dublin we are meeting up with friends that we met at other games when travelling with England Rugby Travel. Alex and I are looking forward to the Meet the Coaches event; it gives us a real insight to behind the scenes and the ethos of teamwork that Stuart Lancaster has developed with the England team.”
