DISCOVER CARDIFF BAY

Cardiff Bay is Europe's Largest Waterfront Development. Located a short 5-minute drive from Cardiff's town centre, the Bay should be on your list of places to go in Cardiff. There is so much to see and do, from the Dr Who Experience and the World of Boats, to the Wales Millennium Centre and the Norwegian Church Arts Centre, you will be kept entertained. Cardiff Bay is also a cosmopolitan place to eat out, offering international cuisine, bistros, cafes, with a range of great bars and pubs.*

ST FAGANS NATIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM

Cardiff Castle in the centre of the city is a well-recognised and enthralling place of interest, but St Fagans National History Museum is a real find just 20 minutes' drive from the Principality Stadium. Located on the outskirts of Cardiff, St Fagans is one of Europe's leading open–air museums. Focusing on Welsh rural life, over forty original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland. It is Wales's most popular heritage attraction, and what's more, admission is free! (There is a car parking charge of £5 per car.)*

SHOPPING IN CARDIFF

Cardiff is a superb place to shop and with a combination of designer brands, high street names as well as more individual and independent shops, there’s something for everyone. Recently named the 6th best shopping destination in the UK, Cardiff has the whole spectrum of shopping, with charming Edwardian and Victorian arcades and ultra-modern shopping centres. And when you’ve had your fill of retail therapy, there are plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars to stop and relax in! Start your journey with the spectacular St David’s Shopping Centre, one of the UK’s newest, brightest and largest indoor malls, the Queens Arcade, or one of Cardiff’s older arcades such as the Royal, Castle, High Street or Morgan.*

CARDIFF CASTLE

Piece together 2,000 years of history on your visit to Cardiff Castle. Once a Roman Fort, the castle became an extraordinary Victorian Gothic fantasy palace, created for one of the world’s richest men. Discover the remains of a Roman wall, climb to the top of the medieval Keep, explore the atmospheric Wartime Shelters and be overwhelmed by the extraordinary decoration in the Castle Apartments. In the nineteenth century, art- architect William Burges created a medieval dream world for the 3rd Marquess of Bute; the results are simply breath-taking with opulent interiors rich with gilding, elaborate wood carving, murals and stained glass.*
