It was a night to remember for hundreds of England fans who enjoyed an exclusive audience with the England coaching team on the eve of the RBS 6 Nations Championship showdown in Dublin.
Laughs, jokes, insight, celebrations, photographs and questions from the floor provided a unique experience for England Rugby Travel guests in Dublin.
For the third year in a row England’s coaching team - Stuart Lancaster, Graham Rowntree, Andy Farrell and Mike Catt - provided a unique insight into the inner-workings of the England team with a Q & A session at the Ballsbridge Hotel in central Dublin.
From team selection, rugby’s current affairs, how the England squad is developing and much more, Lancaster and co provided plenty of laughs and insight for more than an hour before leaving with a standing ovation.
John Pettett, who was celebrating his 86th birthday, had his photograph taken with the coaches and said: “It’s the best birthday I have ever had. My heart was beating so hard – it was very unexpected – I had a fantastic evening.”
With drinks vouchers, unique videos and the chance to submit a question to the audience, the night is a gem for rugby fans. And with former England legends Neil Back and Phil Greening in attendance, it proved a great night.
“There is no other sport where you would get the head coach come and speak to fans and you only get it with England Rugby Travel,” Back said.
“It was a pleasure to be there, listen to them and understand what they are doing – it was great to be a part of.”
