Update on the Earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand - 5pm Wednesday 16 March 2011
Despite a huge effort, it has been reluctantly announced yesterday that Stadium Christchurch will be unable to host its seven scheduled matches. As a result, Eden Park in Auckland has been confirmed as the new venue for quarter-finals 2 and 4 on Saturday 8 October and Sunday 9 October 2011.
The new venues for the pool matches that were due to take place in Christchurch have not yet been confirmed. An update on the new locations is expected in the next three to four weeks.
As a result, England Rugby Travel is pleased to confirm that we have secured the same standard of accommodation for the quarter-finals in Auckland and have transferred all effected packages on sale to the Rydges Harbour View hotel, which is our flagship hotel in Auckland. These new official supporter travel packages are available to book online now.
We have informed all of our clients directly by email. We are grateful for the numerous messages of support that we have received from fans and passed on to our colleagues in New Zealand. Interest remains high with so many supporters still intending to travel.
