MATT, JAKE AND MARTYN ARE OUR DREAM TEAM
Two Rugby World Cup winners and one of the greatest Welsh flankers in history created England Rugby Travel’s dream team at the second special event at Auckland Rydges Harbourview Hotel.
Beers, laughs, questions and memories were the order of the day as England fans settled in for another night of top entertainment.
England’s World Cup winning, Strictly Come Dancing, Master Chef, radio pundit scrum-half Matt Dawson was joined by Jake White, who led South Africa to the summit of world Rugby in 2007 and legendary Welsh flanker Martyn Williams, who has amassed 99 international caps for the red dragon.
In the packed hotel, fans posed questions to the illustrious panel, enjoyed a free bar and music at the second specially arranged event for England Rugby Travel clients in New Zealand.
Dawson, who was part of the England team that landed the Game’s biggest prize in 2003, fielded questions on every aspect of the Tournament, while White and Williams kept fans enthralled ahead of the semi-final showdowns.
Rydges Harbourview has been transformed into a little piece of Twickenham and after ‘Buck’ Shelford and Andy Gomarsall launched the first event last week, again almost 200 fans packed into the hotel to hear from the greats.
“The great thing about these events is that fans get the chance to meet some truly great figures in international rugby,” said England Rugby Travel’s head of sales and marketing Justin Hopwood.
“It brings fans together, offers them something that was totally unexpected and new and really adds to the overall Rugby World Cup experience.
"To have guys like Matt, Jake and Martyn answer questions about their careers, having a beer and signing autographs with the fans really bring the whole experience to life.”
