The chance to explore Lord of the Rings country was too good to miss for a group of curious England fans who headed off into the vast open spaces of Glenorchy thanks to the England Rugby Travel event team. Following England’s opening 13-9 pool victory against Argentina, fans took the chance to escape the pressure-cooker atmosphere of the Rugby for a spot of relaxation on the Glenorchy’s stunning natural environment.
A four-wheel drive excursion, a walk through the wilderness of Glenchory’s forest and a Jet Boat ride up the Dart River was the highlight of a wonderful day in the heart of New Zealand’s beautiful countryside.

“We were at the opening ceremony, which was wonderful, have stayed in a wonderful hotel and the atmosphere at England’s first game was very emotional,” said Patricia Cove, who is in New Zealand with her husband Allan and are season ticket holders at Gloucester Rugby.
“We have also had a great experience away from the Rugby – that has been one of the highlights for us – it’s been absolutely brilliant and we can’t wait for England’s next game.”
