A FOREIGN FIELD FOREVER ENGLAND!
England fans flocking into Auckland Rydges Harbourview Hotel for Rugby World Cup were greeted with a little slice of home this week – with a branded pitch in reception.
The Auckland Rydges Harbourview Hotel has become England’s designated fans' base throughout the Tournament and the hotel management and England Rugby Travel staff have pulled out all the stops to transform it into a Twickenham on tour.
A huge England flag lights up the entrance at night and the inside of the hotel is decked out with the red and white cross of St George that has created a real feeling England fans are right in the centre of the Tournament.
As Phil Vickery says on his exclusive Auckland video diary for England Rugby Travel, this is a great venue. “What a location and what a hotel. There is nothing like a Rugby welcome in New Zealand than here at the Rydges Hotel in Auckland.
“It’s a great base to explore the city which is exactly what I did.”
As England fans have discovered there is a piece of New Zealand that is forever England!
