
Game Park (Hluhluwe)
Established in 1895, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park Game reserve is the oldest Game Park in Africa.
Set in the heart of Zululand, the park contains an immense diversity of fauna and flora. It has become well known for its white rhino conservation.
The Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park has a wide range of plant life and gives rise to a diversity of mammals, birdlife reptiles and amphibians, and is home to the 'big five' – lion, rhino (black and white), elephant, buffalo, and leopard, along with an abundance of Wildlife such as, the Nile crocodile, cheetah, hyena, blue wildebeest, jackal, giraffe, plus many of the species named after the England Rugby Travel Tours.
In excess of 300 species of birds have been recorded; the variety of habitats within the area is the reason why it is one of the prime destinations for birds in South Africa. The Hluhluwe Flood plain is one of the only areas in the whole of South Africa where Yellow throated, Pink throated and Orange throated long claw species can be seen together.
